Who is responsible for your information
A Bigger World is responsible for the personal information it handles through this website and its consultancy. For data protection requests or complaints, email complaints@abiggerworld.co.uk.
What we use and why
- Visiting the site
- Our hosting and security providers handle technical information such as your IP address, browser information and requests to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Our legitimate interest is operating a secure, reliable website. See the cookie policy.
- Making an enquiry
- We receive your email address, selected service and any brief message you send. We use them to reply and take steps you request before a possible contract. For general questions or feedback, our legitimate interest is responding and managing correspondence. Without a reply address we cannot reply. The message box is optional.
- Using consultancy services
- We use contact details, agreements and relevant information you provide to arrange and deliver the agreed service. We handle invoicing and accounting information to administer the agreement and comply with our legal obligations. Where needed, we use limited records to manage complaints, protect rights or deal with legal claims.
- Buying the ebook
- Payhip handles checkout and payment providers handle payment details. We use any order details made available to us, such as contact and order information, to help with your order, keep business records or respond to complaints. See Payhip’s privacy policy for its own processing. Card details are entered at checkout.
Information about children and health
Please keep children’s names, diagnoses, EHCPs, reports and other sensitive details out of the public enquiry form. If case documents are needed, we will provide details of how to share them and how we will use them, including the lawful basis and any special-category condition that applies.
Who receives information
The website is delivered through Sites and Cloudflare. The enquiry form sends your submission to FormSubmit for delivery to our business inbox. We use email and other service providers as needed to handle correspondence, manage records and deliver agreed work. Payhip and its payment providers handle the separate checkout. Where relevant, we may share limited information with professional advisers or authorities, or with schools and local authorities where agreed for your case or required by law.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires a safeguard for a transfer, it must be covered by an applicable UK adequacy regulation or another approved safeguard. Email us for information about the arrangements for a particular service or a copy of the relevant safeguard.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information while it is needed to reply and deal with follow-up. We keep case information while it is needed for the agreed work and any related follow-up. After that, we retain only what is needed for legal or accounting obligations, complaints or claims, taking account of applicable deadlines and whether the matter is still open.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy you can reuse. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it.
Right to object. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Email complaints@abiggerworld.co.uk to raise a data protection complaint. Tell us what happened, when and what you would like us to do. We will acknowledge the complaint within 30 days, look into it, keep you informed and tell you the outcome without undue delay. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
